This scholarship is given to exceptional international students who have been recommended by APU. This scholarship is provided by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) with the goal of increasing international competitiveness and promoting active exchange of international students in Japanese universities.

Eligibility for Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarships for International Students at Asia Pacific University:
You must meet the following requirements to be eligible:
- Intention to study in Japan abroad
- Not have Japanese nationality and be a citizen of a country with which Japan has diplomatic relations.
- You must have been born on or after April 2, 1988.
How to Apply for Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarships for International Students at Asia Pacific University:
- Please submit your APU application by November 16, 2022. (for September 2023 Enrollment). April enrollment is currently unavailable. There are no additional documents required to be considered for this scholarship.
- APU reviews application materials and recommends outstanding candidates to MEXT.
- Applicants who are recommended for this scholarship are notified along with the results of their final APU application.
- Selected applicants complete and return to APU additional MEXT application documents.
- MEXT determines the final scholarship award results.
